Emery Sapp & Sons one of fastest growing businessesMarch 22, 2009 Article taken from March 21, 2009 Columbia Business Times Emery Sapp and Sons, a regional construction company that specializes in infrastructure, has recently taken home two accolades. Emery Sapp and Sons was featured as a case study in a report on Missouri’s fastest growing businesses. The study looked at businesses that had at least doubled their employment in the last five years, a feat less than four percent of Missouri businesses have accomplished. The report, conducted by the Missouri Economic Research and Information Center (MERIC) and Business Research and Information Development Group, selected the company to illustrate what makes a fast-growing business successful. Emery Sapp and Sons began in 1972 with one employee and one piece of construction equipment, according to the report. Now the company has over 450 employees and offices in Columbia, Kansas City, and Springfield. In addition, the new U.S. 63 Interchange at Gans Road, built by Emery Sapp and Sons, earned an “Excellence In Paving” award. The Missouri/Kansas chapter of the American Concrete Paving Association gives the award for municipal street paving that meets high standards of engineering, innovation and workmanship. |
